The Woodland centre has been teaching traditional crafts and have been operating for over 20 years! The skills centre is based in the heart of the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The main idea behind this showing people that they can make things they have never thought they could do. “I can’t do that” often just means “I’ve never done that.”
We have 50 acres of woodland with permanent Forest School sites, extensive workshops and a new timber-frame Centre building with meeting room, resource centre, kitchen and toilet, Sheepswool insulation, lime plaster, wood-burner and photo-voltaic roof making it a model of sustainable construction.
We run a range of courses in traditional crafts, bushcraft courses, family holidays and courses for youth and community groups. Hopefully we intend to keep the crafts alive and so we work hard to keep the courses affordable so that they are accessible to younger people who might then go home and carry on developing their skills.
