We regularly feature the work of craftspeople but rarely a fine artist, so we are pleased this week to be talking to Paul James. Paul is an artist, musician and composer who has been full time as an artist since 1986.
When we asked him what motivates him, simply put, “The excitement of the creative process.” which I think is something many of us have in common.
Talking about some recent projects, The inspiration for his Urban Collection came from the graffiti painted walls and detritus strewn towpaths of the urban Inland Waterways. Although the initial paintings in this series featured ducks and geese which are regularly seen in this environment it led to him introducing other creatures too creating an alternative perspective of animal art.
And as a final thought he added, “I’m hoping to develop my vintage traditional narrow boat into a floating art space.” We can’t wait!
