Why I love knitting, and my goals for 2016

Rachel Owen, Tangled Yarn: Why I love Knitting, and my goals for 2016

I’m a knitter and have been for over 30 years although I did take a break in my late teens. I rekindled my love for all things yarn related in my twenties after a bereavement and found great solace in each and every stitch. I love just how social knitting can be but it’s also something you can do on your own; you can take it anywhere and I usually have one project in my bag so if I’m sat in the car waiting for the children I can spend my time knitting.

I’m looking forward to this year! I’m planning to learn Brioche knitting as there are so many amazing patterns using this technique.

I’m currently working with several designers on a collection of patterns using yarns we stock here at Tangled Yarn.

My crochet skills need a little work so I’m planning to improve on those. I’m always on the lookout for new and interesting yarns to stock so I’m busy seeking out something a bit different to offer Tangled Yarn customers.

I love what I do, running Tangled Yarn is a real privilege. Although I’m online I make sure my customers see me as a real person and I really care about each and every order that I send out. I love seeing what the yarn I lovely wrap eventually becomes and with the wonders of the internet I get to see on Instagram and Ravelry just what my customer have made.
