Making a claim or cancelling your craft insurance policy.

We hope you never need to make a claim, but if you do, here’s exactly what to do and what to expect. We’ve also set out your cancellation rights clearly, so you always know where you stand.

It’s when you claim that you find out how good your insurance really is.

Craft stall insurance, craft business insurance, and any other policy you take out is only as good as the insurer behind it when something goes wrong. Price comparisons tell you what you’ll pay. Claims tell you what you actually get.

At Craft Insurance, our policies are underwritten by Hiscox, one of the UK’s most respected specialist insurers, with a claims service built around speed, fairness and expert legal support. We’re confident you won’t find a better claims experience for craft insurance in the UK.

Frequently Asked Questions

We want you to feel confident in your craft insurance uk policy from the moment you take it out. If for any reason it’s not right for you, your cancellation rights are clear and straightforward.

Within the first 14 days (cooling-off period): If you decide within the first 14 days of taking out your policy that it doesn’t meet your needs, you can cancel and receive a full refund of your premium, provided no claim has been made.

After 14 days: You can cancel your policy at any time by emailing us to confirm the cancellation and the date it should take effect. We will return the portion of your premium relating to the unexpired period of cover, provided no claims have been notified. If a claim has been notified, a refund will only be issued if it is us, not you, who is cancelling the policy.

Cancellation by Craft Insurance: We may cancel your policy by giving you 30 days’ notice in writing. In this case, we will return the premium for the unexpired period regardless of whether a claim has been made.

Minimum refund threshold: We will not refund any amount under £20.00.

Always contact us first if you’re unsure. Claims go directly to Hiscox but if you’re not sure whether something is claimable, or you want to talk through what happened before you make a formal claim, call us first. We’re here to help you navigate it, and we know the policy inside out.

Cancellations come with no fees. Just as we charge no admin fees for policy amendments, there are no cancellation fees. If you need to cancel, whether you’re a craft stall insurance holder wrapping up for the season or a craft business insurance customer whose circumstances have changed, just drop us an email and we’ll handle it promptly.

Craft Insurance is proudly one of the family. We exist for crafters and we always will.

If you have any questions about the Craft Insurance Policy, you may be able to find your answer in the frequently asked questions below…

Craft stall insurance is worth having even if you only trade a few times a year, and an annual craft business insurance policy will typically work out better value than trying to arrange one off craft fair insurance for each individual event. A single annual policy covers unlimited events with no need to notify us each time, so there’s no extra administration involved in attending more fairs throughout the year.

The risk of a claim doesn’t diminish just because you trade less frequently. A customer trip, a damaged product claim, or a property loss can happen at any event, and without craft stall insurance in place, the cost of defending even an unfounded claim falls entirely on you. For most crafters, the peace of mind an annual policy brings far outweighs the cost.
